Crime of the Week - May 5, 2008
During the evening of April 24, 2008 a business in the 1700
block of Lima Ave in Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was
made to Harold Shuck Inc. Stolen from the business were: several
18 volt batteries; copper tubing; 2 Sinco 2-tank air
compressors; 18 volt Milwaukee cordless hammer drill with
accessories; Compaq laptop computer.
Crime of the Week - April 18, 2008 - SOLVED
On Friday April 11, 2008 the Fifth/Third Bank located at 337 S.
Main St. in Findlay was robbed. A suspect entered the bank and
approached a teller at the counter. The suspect presented a note
to the teller indicating he was armed and demanded money. The
suspect received an undisclosed amount of money, then walked out
the front door of the bank. No weapon was seen. Bank
surveillance photos of suspect:

The suspect is a white male, late 50’s to
60’s in age. Approximately 5’-8, medium build. He was wearing
blue jeans and a blue jean jacket, a dark shirt underneath the
jacket. He had gray hair and wore wire rim glasses and a dark
ball cap.
Crime of the Week - March 24, 2008
During the weekend of March 22, 2008 numerous vehicles were
vandalized in several areas of the City of Findlay. Tires were
slashed and car windows were broken on many vehicles throughout
the City. In some instances, thefts occurred from vehicles that
had their windows broken. Car stereos, CD’s, purses, wallets and
other personal effects were some of the items stolen from these
vehicles.
Crime of the Week - March 3, 2008
During the evening of Sunday February 24, 2008 a burglary
occurred at Omlor TV and Electronics Service located at 1009
Blanchard Ave in Findlay. Forced entry was made to the business.
Cash was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - February 12, 2008
During the evening of Tuesday January 29, 2008 the Boy Scouts of
America office located at 2100 Broad Ave in Findlay was
burglarized. Forced entry was made to the building. The suspect
damaged several items within the building and stole several
Swiss army knifes, a camelback trailblazer back pack, and an LCD
projector.
Crime of the Week - January 29, 2008
During the evening of Wednesday January 23, 2008 Rick Runion’s
Used Car Center at 2414 N. Main St in Findlay was burglarized.
Forced entry was made to the business. Once inside, the suspect
stole a black Compaq computer with a 20" flat screen from the
office. The suspect also stole a red and black ShopVac and
Carhart coveralls from the shop area.
The suspect apparently loaded these items into the bed of a
silver 1997 Dodge Ram that was parked in the shop with the keys
still in it. They then backed the truck out of the shop and
drove it to an unknown location. The suspect then returned the
truck to the shop when they were done.
Crime of the Week - January 18, 2008
At approximately 11:30 pm on Tuesday January 15, 2008 a
residence was forcibly entered in the 200 block of Elm St. in
Findlay. The resident was home at the time and was assaulted by
the intruders. The suspects were described as four males,
probably in their 20's; maybe early 30's. They were dressed in
all dark clothes with dark colored scarves or ski masks covering
their faces. One of the men was wearing glasses. All four of
them were carrying handguns. The men had a strong odor of
tobacco smoke on them. The suspects held the resident at
gunpoint, assaulted him, and demanded money. They fled the home
after obtaining cash. The victim drove himself to the hospital
for treatment.
Crime of the Week - January 3, 2008
Three burglaries to businesses occurred in Findlay during the
New Years Eve - New Years Day holiday.
- The Disabled American Veterans Hall
located at 201 E. Front St. Forced entry through a door.
Cash stolen
- The Sign Shack located at 109 S. Main St. Forced entry
through a window.
Cash stolen.
- The Something Special Learning Center located at 655 Fox
Run Rd. Forced entry through a window.
Cash, a computer, and
a van were stolen.
The computer was a Compaq Lap top Model
F572US notebook computer. The van was a white 1999 Chevy 15
Passenger van with “Something Special Learning Center”
written on it bearing Ohio registration AR34QF.
Crime of the Week - December 11, 2007 - SOLVED
At approximately 11:20 p.m. on October 17, 2007 a bomb threat
was phoned into the plant at Whirlpool, N. Main St. Findlay. The
caller, a younger sounding adult male with a low tone, stated
that there were bombs on one of the assembly lines at the plant.
The plant was evacuated and searched and no suspicious items
were found.
Crime of the Week - November 28, 2007
During the evening of Tuesday November 20, 2007 numerous
vehicles had their tires sliced while parked in the 600 block of
Floral Ave; the 600 block of E. Sandusky St.; and the 800 block
of E. Main Cross St. in Findlay.
Crime of the Week - November 9, 2007
During the daytime of Thursday October 18, 2007 a home was
burglarized in the 200 block of S. West St. in Findlay. Taken
during this burglary were numerous firearms and a pair of
sapphire earrings. The firearms are described as follows:
- High Standard, possibly trophy model,
22 caliber semi auto pistol with blue finish
- High Standard, possibly target model,
22 caliber semi auto pistol with blue finish
- Glock 45 caliber handgun, loaded
- Detonics 45 caliber semi auto with
blue finish, loaded

- UZI Model B in 22 caliber
- Smith in Wesson model 59 9mm handgun
with blue finish
- Mitchell Semi Auto Rifle AK47 look a
like in 22 caliber

Crime of the Week - October 19, 2007
During the evening of Thursday October 4, 2007 a burglary
occurred at American Loan Mortgage Corporation, 520 N. Main St.
in Findlay. Items stolen during this burglary include: a Sony
Cyber Shot digital camera with accessories; a Dell laptop
computer; a Dell desk top computer with flat screen monitor and
wireless network card.
Crime of the Week - September 11, 2007
On September 25, 2007 at 10:47 p.m. the Family Video Store
located at 707 S. Blanchard St. in Findlay was robbed by two
suspects. The first suspect was described as a black male in his
20’s. He was wearing a grey sweat jacket, a black baseball cap,
had a goatee, and was wielding a black crow bar. The second
suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s. He was
wearing a black Oakland Raiders jacket. The suspects fled the
store on foot after obtaining cash from the employee. It is
possible they then fled the scene in a dark colored car that was
parked in the area.
Crime of the Week - September 11, 2007
During the early morning hours of Monday August 20, 2007 Papa
Johns Pizza, 1045 Tiffin Ave. in Findlay, was burglarized.
Forced entry was made to the business. A safe was stolen during
this burglary.

burglaries at local businesses in Findlay since the first of

Crime of the Week - August 1, 2007
Between July 26 and July 28, 2007 the Findlay Grace Brethren
Church, located at 209 Lexington Ave in Findlay, was
burglarized. Forced entry was made to the church. Items stolen
include: a television; a portable radio; a 6 foot fiberglass
ladder; an 8 foot fiberglass ladder; and a Christian Flag.
Damage was done to the inside of the church as well.
Crime of the Week - July 12, 2007
Sometime during the evening of Tuesday July 10th a van owned by
Advanced Novelties, 101 Stanford Parkway, Findlay, was broken
into and items were stolen. The vehicle was parked at the
business at the time of the theft. Forced entry was made to the
vehicle. Items stolen include sunglasses, lighters, display
toys, fashion apparel and headwear.
Crime of the Week - June 19, 2007
During the early morning hours of Thursday June 7, 2007 Wilson’s
Sandwich Shop located at 600 S. Main St. in Findlay was
burglarized. Forced entry was made to the business. A safe was
tampered with, but not entered.
Crime of the Week - June 1, 2007
Within the past week there have been several arson fires near
the village park in Mt. Blanchard, Ohio. On Friday May 25th, a
house trailer was set afire. During the morning hours of June
1st, two barns and a house were set on fire. The Hancock County
Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
Crime of the Week - May 22, 2007
On Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at approximately 11:30 a.m. a newborn
baby boy (Caucasian) was left in a cardboard box in the woman’s
restroom at Riverside Park in Findlay. The baby was found
wrapped in a blue bath towel, and a pink Old Navy woman’s extra
large sweater was wrapped around the baby in the box. The
umbilical cord was still attached and it is believed the baby
was not born in a medical facility. The baby appeared to have
been born within the past 1-2 days. Writing on the box indicated
that the baby was born on May 15 and that the mother could not
take care of the baby. While numerous tips have been phoned into
the Findlay Police Department and Crime Stoppers, the mother of
the baby has yet to be identified. The baby is now in the
custody of Hancock County Children’s Protective Services.

Crime of the Week - May 7, 2007
During the evening of April 20, 2007 numerous headstones were
vandalized outside Coldren Crates Funeral Home on W. Sandusky
St. in Findlay. A total of 18 headstones were damaged as a
result of this vandalism.
Crime of the Week - April 27, 2007
Between April 10 and April 15, 2007, numerous pop machines were
broken into in various locations in Findlay. These areas include
Tiffin Ave, N. Main St, Lima Ave, Romick Parkway, and E. Melrose
Ave. Forced entry was made to the machines and the money was
removed from the machines.
Crime of the Week - March 20, 2007
Recent DNA analysis has linked four unsolved sexual assaults
that have occurred in Findlay and Upper Sandusky. The first
offense occurred in Upper Sandusky in 1995 and involved the rape
of a 72 year old woman in her home. In December, 2004 a 23 year
old Findlay woman was raped in her home on N. Cory St. In April,
2005 a 40 year old Findlay woman was attacked in her home on
Park St. And in June, 2005 a 22 year old woman was attacked in
her home on N. Cory St. All four crimes have been linked through
DNA from the suspect left at the scene. The suspect has been
described as a white male, slim to medium build, in his 50’s,
with blondish brown hair which at one time was in a mullet style
cut. He had a tattoo on his left arm with “ROC.” It is believed
that he was a smoker, and wore prescription glasses which may
have been issued through Medicaid.
Crime of the Week - March 20, 2007
On Sunday March 11, 2007 at approximately 11:30 p.m. a woman was
robbed at knifepoint in the 800 block of Tiffin Ave in Findlay.
The woman was approached as she walked up to her apartment door.
The suspect approached her from behind and grabbed the victim,
displayed the knife, and demanded her money. The suspect fled on
foot from the area after obtaining money. He is described as a
white male, approximately 30 years of age. The suspect had long
"scraggly" dirty blonde hair, approximately 5' 10", 190-200 lbs.
The suspect was wearing black jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt,
and a black trench coat that was similar to a rain coat. The
victim was not injured.
Crime of the Week - March 6, 2007
During the evening of Friday, February 16, 2007 the Century
Health South Campus building, located at 1918 N. Main St. in
Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the building,
and to two pop machines and some office cabinets inside the
building.
Crime of the Week - January 25, 2007
Since the beginning of the year, there have been several
residential burglaries in Findlay where gaming systems were
stolen. X Box, Nintendo, and Playstation systems and games have
been stolen from the following areas: 1000 block of Vincent St;
500 block of Davis St; 600 block of Liberty St; 500 block of
Clinton St; and the 400 block of N. Cory St. In most instances,
forced entry was made to the residence.
Crime of the Week - January 8, 2007
During the past week, two Findlay Schools were burglarized.
During the evening of January 2, 2007 Glenwood Middle School was
forcibly entered. Vandalism was done to many offices and areas
of the school. Lap top computers, walkie-talkies, CB radios; and
school supplies were stolen during this burglary. During the
evening of January 4, 2007, Wilson Vance Elementary School was
also forcibly entered. A lap top computer was stolen.
Crime of the Week - December 27, 2006
During the early evening hours of December 26, 2006 several
vehicles parked in the 700-800 block of Defiance Ave in Findlay
had their tires slashed. All the vehicles had been parked in
driveways.
Crime of the Week - November 28, 2006
Between 10:30 a.m and 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 14, 2006 a
home was burglarized in the 2400 block of Northgate Blvd. in
Findlay. The home was entered while the resident was outside
working in the yard. Stolen from the home was a women’s wallet
containing cash and credit cards, and a jewelry box containing
diamond wedding ring; man’s wedding ring; necklaces; bracelets
and earrings.
Crime of the Week - November 13, 2006
At approximately 3am on November 12, 2006 an apartment was
forcibly entered in the 700 block on Longmeadow Lane in Findlay.
The resident was home sleeping at the time of the burglary.
Forced entry was made to the front door of the apartment. The
resident awoke and apparently scared off the intruder, who was
seen leaving the apartment Southbound on foot. Nothing was
missing from the apartment.

Crime of the Week - October 13, 2006
During the early morning hours of Saturday October 7, 2006 a
burglary occurred at the Disable American Veterans building at
201 E. Front St. in Findlay. Forced entry was made to the
building and cash was stolen from inside the lounge area.
Crime of the Week - September 29, 2006
During the early morning hours of Monday September 25, 2006
numerous vehicles were vandalized in the village of McComb. Over
65 vehicles had their tires slashed as they were parked in
various parts of the village.
Crime of the Week - September 14, 2006
On Thursday August 17, 2006 at approximately 11a.m the Sky Bank,
located at N. Main St and Foulke Ave in Findlay, was robbed. The
suspect entered the bank, displayed a semi-automatic handgun,
and demanded money from the tellers. He fled on foot after
receiving an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was
described as a white male, in his mid 30’s, 5’-9” to 5’-10”
tall, stocky build with short brown hair. He was wearing panty
hose on his head and had a ball cap on over that. He wore
rectangular shaped glasses.
Crime of the Week - July 25, 2006
During the early morning hours of July 3, 2006 a home was
burglarized in the 1000 block of Oakdale Drive in Findlay. The
suspect had entered the home and had made his way to one of the
bedrooms in the home. The suspect then attempted to sexually
assault a female in the bedroom when the occupants awoke and
chased the suspect out of the house. The suspect was described
as white slender male, approximately 5'10" wearing a baseball
cap, light sleeveless shirt and long shorts.
Crime of the Week - July 14, 2006
During the early morning hours of July 11, 2006 a theft of steel
occurred at Holtgreven Scale, 420 E. Lincoln St. in Findlay. A
suspicious vehicle had been seen in the area at the time of the
theft. It was described as a 80s Chevy black and gold colored
pickup truck with two males occupying the vehicle. Stolen from
the business were at least 12 pallets of steel scale components,
estimated to weigh between 5 to 6 thousand pounds total.
Crime of the Week - June 29, 2006
On June 23, 2006 at approximately 3:15 p.m. a woman was robbed
at gunpoint in her driveway on Township Road 215 in Hancock
County. The victim had been in Findlay and had left a local
bank, driving to her residence on TR 215. When she pulled into
her driveway a vehicle pulled in behind her and the suspect
approached her in the driveway. The suspect attempted to grab
the purse away from the victim and when she resisted he
displayed a handgun and threatened the victim. The suspect fled
the scene in his vehicle after obtaining the victim’s purse. The
suspect was described as a white male in his 20’s, 5-8 to 5-9”
tall, 180-220 pounds; he was possibly wearing glasses, and had
on dark colored clothing. The vehicle the suspect was driving
was described as a gray sedan.
Crime of the Week - June 12, 2006
During the evening of Thursday June 1, 2006 a burglary occurred
at the Findlay Siding and Building Supply warehouse on Rockwell
Ave in Findlay. The chain link fence was cut and entry was made
to the yard of the business. Approximately 40 bundles of IKO
black roof shingles were stolen.
Crime of the Week - May 24, 2006
Several construction sites in Findlay have
experienced theft of construction supplies during the past
month. These thefts have occurred at Rhino Linings on Romick
Parkway, Wal Mart on Trenton Ave, and The Blanchard Valley
Regional Health Center on W. Wallace St. Stolen were large
amounts of electrical wiring, copper tubing, scaffolding, and
steel pipe.
Crime of the Week - May 10, 2006
During the early morning hours of April 2, 2006, Dave’s
Hideaway, located at 1730 Lima Ave in Findlay, was burglarized.
Forced entry was made to the business. A juke box and a game
machine located within the business were pried open and damaged
and money was stolen from the machines.
Crime of the Week - April 18, 2006
During the past month there have been numerous incidents
involving spray paint vandalism in several areas of Findlay.
Houses, garages, and buildings have all been targeted in this
vandalism. Different symbols, words, and letters have been used.
Crime of the Week - April 3, 2006
During the weekend of March 3, 2006 numerous mailboxes were
vandalized on the East side of Findlay. Over 20 mailboxes were
damaged on Nutmeg Lane, Lone Tree Drive, and Longmeadow Lane.
Evidence at the scene suggests the vandal(s) were in a vehicle.
Crime of the Week - March 23, 2006
On Thursday March 23, 2006 at approximately 6:15 a.m. a resident
in the 1700 block of Cherry Lane in Findlay was assaulted during
a home invasion. The resident responded to a doorbell ring at
his front door. He was met at the front door by two suspects,
who brandished a handgun and threatened the resident. They
demanded entry into the home and indicated they were there to
rob the resident of their valuables. A struggle ensued between
the robbers and the resident near the front door and the robbers
assaulted the resident. The robbers then fled the scene on foot.
They were described as 2 white males, approx. 16 - 20 years old,
approx 5'08" - 5'11" tall. They were both wearing black or dark
colored coats with hoods up and neither of them had glasses or
facial hair.
The victim was injured but refused treatment at the scene.
Nothing was reported missing from the victim.
Crime of the Week - March 16, 2006
On March 4, 2006 a vehicle was entered in the 3200 block of
Gleneagle Dr. in Hancock County. This same area has experienced
a rash of vehicle entries within the past several months. Car
stereos and other items have been stolen during these incidents.
Investigation has revealed two suspects, late teens to early
20’s, may be responsible for these thefts.
Crime of the Week - February 28, 2006
On February 17, 2006 Deputies responded to a residence in
Portage Township in Hancock County where they discovered a GMC
pickup truck stuck in mud up to its frame. It was later learned
this truck had been stolen from Hollybrook Drive in Findlay.
While investigating this matter Deputies discovered that a barn
had been entered at the Portage Township residence and an ATV
was stolen. This stolen ATV was later recovered at the apartment
complex across from the Microsoft building near County Road 99.
Crime of the Week - February 15, 2006
During the early morning hours of Friday February 10, 2006
Glenwood Middle School on N. Main St. in Findlay was
burglarized. Forced entry was made to the school and several
offices inside the school. Pop machines were tampered with and
cabinets entered and ransacked. Cash was stolen during the
burglary. Several doors, windows and cabinets were likewise
damaged during the burglary.
Crime of the Week - January 24, 2006
During the early morning hours of Tuesday January 3, 2006 Dave's
Hideaway Lounge located on Lima Ave in Findlay was burglarized.
Forced entry was made to the bar. Cash was stolen during this
burglary.
Crime of the Week - January 9, 2006
During the evening of Thursday December 29, 2005 the First
United Church of Christ, located at 2100 Greendale Ave. in
Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the church.
Several offices within the church were also forcibly entered. An
electronic hymnal, digital computer, and cash were stolen during
this burglary.
Crime of the Week - December 28, 2005
On December 15, 2005 at approximately 10:15 am the Sky Bank,
located at 1403 N. Main St. in Findlay, was robbed. A lone
gunman entered the bank, brandishing a silver semi-automatic
hand gun and demanded money from the bank clerks. The suspect
fled on foot after obtaining money and entered a silver 4-door
vehicle parked East of the bank and fled the area. The suspect
was described as a white male, wearing a blue ski mask and a
carhart type coat; 5-6 to 5-7 tall, average build, with brown

Crime of the Week - December 14, 2005
During the evening of Wednesday November 30, 2005 a burglary
occurred at the Rocking U Pizza, located at 318 W. Main Cross St
in Findlay. Forced entry was made to the business. Money was
stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - December 2, 2005
Since November 24 there have been numerous vehicles entered and
items stolen throughout Findlay and the surrounding area.
Stereos, speakers, purses, wallets, CD's, clothing, and other
miscellaneous valuables have been stolen during these thefts.
Forced entry has been used in many of these thefts, usually by
breaking a window. These thefts were not isolated to any one
particular area of town.
Crime of the Week - November 16, 2005
Three recent burglaries have occurred to businesses in Findlay.
On November 11, Players Bar on N. Main St. was entered. On
November 12, Papa Johns Pizza on Tiffin Ave was burglarized. On
November 15, China Rose on S. Main St was entered. In each
burglary, forced entry was made through a door to the business.
Cash was stolen in each burglary.
Crime of the Week - November 8, 2005
During the late evening hours of October 27, 2005, several post
office boxes
were forcibly entered at the Findlay Post Office on W. Main
Cross St. in
Findlay. The boxes, located in the lobby area of the post
office, were
pried open and several pieces of mail were strewn about the
lobby. It is
unknown exactly what if anything was missing from the boxes.
Crime of the Week - November 1, 2005
During the early morning hours of October 18, 2005 a business in
the 400 block of Crystal Ave in Findlay was burglarized. Forced
entry was made to the RM Clark Company. Once inside, the
suspect(s) forcibly entered other areas of the business and
machines inside the business. Cash was stolen during this
burglary.
Crime of the Week - October 17, 2005
At approximately 4am on October 17, 2005, a home in the 300
block of Fairmont Drive in Findlay was burglarized. Forced
entry was made to the home while the residents slept. The
suspect fled after stealing a purse and wallet that had been
sitting on the kitchen counter.
Crime of the Week - October 6, 2005
Two residences on the East side of Findlay were burglarized in
the early morning hours of September 20, 2005. Forced entry was
made between 1-3 am to residences in the 300 block of Wellington
Place and the 400 block of Winter Pine Dr. Vehicles were also
entered that were at these residences. Purses, cash, and
miscellaneous items were stolen.

Crime of the Week - September 1, 2005
Three armed robberies have occurred to businesses on the South
end of Findlay during the past three weeks. On August 14th, the
Speedway on S. Main St was robbed by a black male, described as
6’-3” tall, 190 pounds. On August 18th, the Circle K was robbed
on S. Blanchard St. by a black male, described as 6’ tall and
average build. Then on August 24th Wolfies South Side on Sixth
St was robbed by a black male, described as 5’-6” tall and
average build. In all three robberies the suspect displayed a
firearm and obtained cash from the clerk.
Crime of the Week - August 12, 2005
During the last week of July, several homes
were burglarized during the mid afternoon hours in Findlay.
Residences were entered on W. Hobart Ave, Clifton Ave, Park St,
and E. McPherson Ave. In come cases, forced entry was made, and
in others, entry was made while the residents were outside of
their homes working in the yard. Cash and jewelry was stolen
during these burglaries.
Crime of the Week - August 1, 2005
A robbery occurred at Swifty's gas station on Trenton Ave in
Findlay on
Monday July 18, 2005 at 2:05 p.m. A black male approached the
clerk at
Swifty's on foot. He robbed the clerk at gunpoint with a black
handgun.
The suspect then fled the area on foot and was seen getting into
a red SUV
that was parked in the area. That vehicle then left the area
Eastbound to
Main St, then South on Main St. The suspect was described as a
black male,
5-10 tall, 145 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap and long
sleeved black t-shirt and gray baggy pants. The clerk was not injured during the
robbery.
Crime of the Week - July 18, 2005
During the past several weeks a home in the 700 block of Hunters
Creek in
Findlay has been the target of repeated vandalism. Damage has
resulted from
eggings, rocks, and golf balls thrown at the property and
vehicles at the
residence.
Crime of the Week - July 5, 2005
During the late evening hours of June 16, 2005 a barn on TR 30
in the
southern part of Hancock County was entered and the following
items stolen:
• John Deere 777-72 Z Track front deck mower
• Yamaha golf cart with dump bed
• String trimmer
Crime of the Week - June 21, 2005
Between May 12 -15, 2005 a burglary occurred on a horse farm
and residence on Township Road 180 outside Findlay. Forced entry
was made to the residence. Stolen was a large collection of WWII
German Army uniforms, military swords, daggers, medals,
firearms, jewelry, computer equipment, televisions, and cash.
Crime of the Week - June 10, 2005
A 2000 dark green Dodge Intrepid 4 door bearing Ohio
registration DBQ-8047
was stolen from the 500 block of Center St. in Findlay on the
morning of
June 8, 2005. It is possible the keys were with the vehicle.
Crime of the Week - May 31, 2005
During the evening of Tuesday May 10, 2005 the Central Church of
Christ, 307
E. Hardin St. in Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was made
to the
church. Two computers were stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - May 10, 2005
During the daylight hours of Wednesday May 4, 2005 a
residential burglary occurred in the 200 block of Stanley Ave in
Findlay. Forced entry was made
to the home. Stolen during this burglary were two guns, a
Mossberg pump action 12 gauge shotgun and a Ruger 10/22 rifle,
and numerous collector
coins.
Crime of the Week - April 25, 2005
A burglary occurred at the Spaghetti Shop, 718 Trenton Ave in
Findlay, on
April 25, 2005 at approximately 3 a.m. Findlay Police responded
to an alarm
off at that time, and discovered the burglary. The suspect had
fled prior
to the officer's arrival. Cash was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - April 12, 2005
On April 8, 2005 at approximately 5 a.m. a burglary occurred in
the 900 block of Park St. in Findlay. The occupant of the home
interrupted the burglar as he made his way through the home. A
struggle ensued, and the burglar fled the residence. The suspect
was described as a skinny white male, who was balding with a
mullet type haircut. He wore glasses, and had several tattoos on
his arms, one thought to be “ROC.” The victim was not injured.
Crime of the Week - April 1, 2005
During the early morning hours of March 13, 2005 Spanky's Pizza,
located at
1845 Fostoria Ave in Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was
made to the
business. Cash was stolen during the break-in.
Crime of the Week - March 15, 2005
During
the weekend of March 12th, 2005 homes under
construction in the 1100 and 1200 blocks of First St. in Findlay
were entered and materials stolen. Taken during these thefts
were: 2 Master Craft steel exterior doors; 2 Stanley steel
exterior doors; and one Heat and Glow fireplace.
Crime of the Week - March 3, 2005
Several suspicious fires were reported to the Findlay Fire
Department
between February 12th and the 14th. Trash was set on fire in the
back of a
pickup truck parked on Cedar Ave around 8 a.m. the 12th. A
second vehicle
fire was reported on Cedar Ave at approximately 10 a.m. the same
day. A shed
fire was reported at 7:30 a.m. that same day in the 1000 block
of N. Main
St. And in a fourth fire that day, garbage was set on fire
inside plastic
trash bags in the 200 block of George St. A suspicious garage
fire was
reported on February 14th at approximately 11 p.m. in the 200
block of
Center St.
Crime of the Week - February 22, 2005
On February 12, 2005 at approximately 6:30
a.m. a residence along Twp. Rd.
261 in Hancock County near Fostoria was fired upon by a passing
motorist. A
12-guage shotgun was fired through a window of the residence.
Nobody was
injured during this incident, which is under investigation by
the Hancock
County Sheriff's Office.
Crime of the Week - February 11, 2005
During the afternoon of January 29, 2005 Heck’s Rentals, in the
100 block of E. Crawford St, was burglarized. Forced entry was
made to the business. Cash was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - February 3, 2005
On January 18, 2005 at 9:45 a.m. a residence in the 300 block of
Trenton Ave was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the residence, while
one of the
occupants was home. The suspect was described as a heavy set
black male
approximately 6'01" wearing a dark jacket and stocking cap,
unshaven but
didn't have any facial hair, in his early 30's. He fled on foot
after being
approached. The occupant was not injured during the burglary.
Crime of the Week - January 14, 2005
On
December 24, 2004 at 9:30 p.m. the Sterling Store located at
1058 Fostoria Ave in Findlay was robbed by a lone male suspect.
He was described as being 5’9” tall, wearing a dark mask, dark
colored coat and pants. The suspect stated he has a gun, but no
weapon was seen. He fled on foot after obtaining cash from the
business.
Crime of the Week - December 27, 2004
During the early morning hours of December 20, 2004 a burglary
occurred at The Extreme Lan Planet, 219 N. Main St. in Findlay.
Numerous items were
missing such as computers, gaming consoles, games, cash
register, a
television, and other miscellaneous items. The computers were
homemade and
would be readily identifiable.
Crime of the Week - December 10, 2004
On November 27, 2004 at approximately 11:00 p.m. an armed
robbery occurred
at Oler's Drive Thru, 700 Lima Ave in Findlay. A man entered the
carry out
and brandished a silver handgun. He demanded money, and fled the
business
after obtaining cash from the clerk. The suspect was described
as a white
male, approximately 5'-10" tall, medium build, wearing black
clothing and a
black ski mask. The suspect fled on foot, then entered a
vehicle, possibly a
Chevy Blazer, and fled the area.
Crime of the Week - December 1, 2004
During the evening of November 20, 2004 numerous tires were
stolen off cars
from the lot of the Gene Stevens dealership on Bright Rd in
Findlay. In
all, 20 tires were stolen off Pontiac Grand Prixs and Pontiac
Bonnevilles.
The tires were 16 and 17 inch tires, with rims included.
Crime of the Week - November 19, 2004
During the evening of November 12, 2004 one business was
burglarized and
another one was attempted in the downtown area of Findlay.
Forced entry was
made to the Greek Garden, 321 S. Main St. Forced entry was
attempted at the
Woodland Restaurant 317 S. Main St. A cash drawer was stolen
during the
burglary.
Crime of the Week - November 2, 2004
During the evening of October 21, 2004 the
Pioneer Club, located on E. Pine Ave. in Findlay, was
burglarized. Forced entry was made to the business. Cash was
stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - October 11, 2004
Sometime during the month of September a home under repair was entered in the 100 block of Monroe Ave in Findlay and numerous tools were stolen. These tools included a siding brake, a drywall lift, drywall corners, and a six foot fiberglass step ladder.
Crime of the Week - September 28, 2004
During the early morning hours of September 25, 2004 a burglary occurred at Paradise Pizza, 542 Sixth St. in Findlay. Forced entry was made to the business. The culprit(s) stole cash and a VCR during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - September 10, 2004
During the evening of September 3, 2004 a burglary occurred at American Disposal Services of Ohio, 750 Bolton St. in Findlay. Forced entry was made to the business. Numerous hand tools were stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - August 23, 2004
On August 22, 2004 at approximately 5:00 p.m. several hair clippers were stolen from Sally's Beauty Supply, 2550 Tiffin Ave in Findlay. The suspects, three black males and one black female, entered the business at different times and used distraction techniques while one of the males stole the merchandise. The suspects all entered a grey 4-door Toyota sedan with Ohio plates and fled the area. Two of the males were 6-2 to 6-4, one was bald, and the other had braided hair to his neck. The third male was 5-8 and very thin build. The girl was 6-0 and thin build with shoulder length straight black hair with red highlights. All appeared to be in their early 20's.
Crime of the Week - August 10, 2004
On July 31, 2004 between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. a man went into the Adult Bookstore in Findlay and attempted to make a purchase with a credit card that had been stolen from a local resident. This suspect was a white male, late teens to early 20's, wearing a ball cap and plaid shirt.

Crime of the Week - August 2, 2004
During the early morning hours of July 23, 2004 a residence in the 1000 block of Brookside Drive in Findlay was burglarized. Money was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - July 21, 2004
During the early morning hours of July 14, 2004 the Thunderbird Drive Thru, 514 N. Main St. in Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the business. 50 cartons of Marlboro light box cigarettes, 33 cartons of Marlboro Red soft pack cigarettes and 30 cartons of Marlboro Light soft pack cigarettes were taken from the shelf inside of the drive-thru area, as well as 11 refillable butane gun lighters with lasers.
Crime of the Week - July 8, 2004
Between July 3 and July 5, 2004 a residence in the 600 block of W. Foulke
Ave in Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the home. Stolen
during this burglary were several items of women's jewelry and cash.
Crime of the Week - June 28, 2004
During the afternoon of June 27, 2004 the office of the East Side Car Wash,
located at 1130 Bright Rd in Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was
made to the business. Cash and change was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - June 18, 2004
On Thursday June 17, 2004 at approximately 5:00 a.m. a newspaper delivery
woman was assaulted while delivering papers in the 200 block of E. Wallace
St in Findlay. The woman was injured when she was knocked to the ground.
The suspect fled the scene on foot. He is described as a white male, 6'
tall, medium build, wearing khaki shorts and a dark shirt, between 20-30
years old. It is unknown if this incident is related to a similar incident
that occurred on June 4, 2004 at 6:00 a.m. in the 200 block of Lester Ave in
Findlay. In that incident, a juvenile newspaper delivery girl was knocked
to the ground from behind by a white male, fitting the same physical
description as the suspect described above.
Crime of the Week - June 4, 2004
On May 27, 2004 at 03:15 a.m. a man attempted to rob the Dairy Mart located
at 710 S. Blanchard St in Findlay. The suspect entered the store and
demanded money from the clerk. A customer entered the store and the suspect
confronted him. The suspect fled the store without obtaining money. He
attempted to puncture a car tire in the lot of the store as he fled, using a
small knife. The suspect is described as a white male; 5-7 to 5-10 tall,
thin build, with brown eyes. He had a stocking cap over his face.
Crime of the Week - May 24, 2004
During the evening of May 6, 2004 a business in the 1000 block of Tiffin Ave in Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made to BJ's Custom Sewing. A small amount of cash was stolen during this burglary.

Crime of the Week - May 10, 2004
Between May 4-5, 2004 a home in the 600 block of Frazer St
was burglarized. Entry was believed to be made through a window. Stolen during this burglary
were a DVD player and a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver.
Crime of the Week - April 20, 2004
During the early morning hours of March 21, 2004 Findlay Pizza, located at
108 S. Main St. in Findlay, was burglarized. Cash and a safe were stolen
during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - April 2, 2004
On March 31, 2004 at approximately 5 p.m., three men approached a residence
in the 700 block of Woodworth Dr. in Findlay. These men stated they were
doing some construction work in the area and asked to come inside the
residence to run the faucets to flush sediments from the pipes. Once
inside, the men used distraction techniques to move to various parts of the
house. The men eventually left after running the water for several minutes.
Upon their departure, the residents checked their belongings and discovered
cash and jewelry was stolen from the house. The suspects were described as
being of Middle Eastern descent.
Crime of the Week - March 5, 2004
During the early morning hours of February 17, 2004 Marvin Motors, 600 N.
Main St. in Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the
business. Stolen during this burglary were a men's gold watch with an Ohio
State Patrol logo on it, and a collection of NASCAR model cars.
Crime of the Week - February 20, 2004 - SOLVED
During the evening of February 14, 2004, Chamberlain Hill School, located at
600 W. Yates Ave in Findlay, was burglarized. Windows were broken to gain
entry to the school building. Rooms were ransacked, and cash, checks, and a
set of Cobra Micro Walkie Talkies were stolen.
Crime of the Week - February 9, 2004
During the evening of January 14, 2004 a truck was forcibly entered in the
800 block of W. Melrose Ave in Findlay and numerous tools were stolen.
Among the items taken are: A Harris Cutting Torch; Numerous welding tools; A
Dewalt 24 volt reciprocating saw; A Dewalt 24 volt 7/8" hammer drill; A
Dewalt 18 volt impact driver; and numerous other tools.
Crime of the Week - January 22, 2004
A burglary occurred at the Findlay Martial Arts Academy, 1740 Lima Ave Findlay, during late November, 2003.
Forced entry was made to the business. Numerous items were stolen during this burglary, including cash, a video camera, and misc. martial arts clothing and equipment.
Crime of the Week - January 12, 2004
Between December 16 and 26, 2003, the large inflatable Santa Claus and
Snowman located at The Heritage, 2820 Greenacre Dr. Findlay, were
vandalized. Large cuts were made in both inflatables, rendering them
inoperable.
Crime of the Week - December 30, 2003
During
the evening of December 21, 2003, Mister Lee’s Express
Restaurant, 1225 Tiffin Ave in Findlay, was burglarized.
Cash was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - December 10, 2003
- SOLVED
During the evening of December 7, 2003 businesses were
burglarized in the 500 block of McManness Ave and the 1000
block of Tiffin Ave in Findlay. Cash was stolen during these
burglaries.
Crime of the Week - November 24, 2003
During
the evening of November 4, 2003 tires were stolen from trucks
parked at Flag City Truck Equipment, 151 Stanford Parkway in
Findlay. The
security fence was cut, allowing the culprits to gain entry to
the parking area. A
total of 10 Michelin tires were stolen from the trucks.
Crime of the Week - November 6, 2003 -
SOLVED
During the past several weeks, numerous
businesses have been burglarized in
the City of Findlay. Pizza shops, carry-outs, and
other small businesses
have been targeted, in various parts of the city. In
most cases, forced
entry is usually made through a door or window, and cash seems
to be the
target of the burglars. The majority of the
burglaries are occurring in the
early morning hours.
Crime of the Week - October 27, 2003 -
SOLVED
On October 23, 2003 at approximately 6 a.m. a woman was robbed
of her purse
while in the parking lot of Great Scott on Broad Ave in Findlay. The
suspect was described as a white male, 24-26 years old,
5'-5" tall, with
short brown hair. He may be connected to a green or
black Sports Utility
Vehicle that was seen in the area at the time of the robbery.
Crime of the Week - October 16, 2003
On October 9, 2003 at approximately 3:45 a.m. two
people were attacked and
robbed while in the downtown area of Findlay. A man
was attacked near the
north end of the footbridge over the Blanchard River at Civitan
Park.
Moments later, a woman was attacked while in the 100 block of E.
Front St.
In both cases, the suspect assaulted the victims and stole their
wallet/purse. The suspect is described as a white
male with short dark
hair. Both victims required medical treatment.
Crime of the Week - September 29, 2003 -
SOLVED
During the early morning hours of September 29, 2003 the Dollar
General
Store, located at 2721 N. Main St in Findlay was burglarized. Forced
entry
was made to the business. A safe and dolly cart were
stolen from the
business, and later recovered in a nearby alley. A
suspect, described as a
white male, medium height, approx. 200 pounds, was seen running
from the
area at the time of the burglary.
Crime of the Week - September 16, 2003
During the evening of Wednesday, August 27, 2003 a new home
under construction in the 8000 block of Lakewood Dr. in
Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the new
home. Numerous construction tools were stolen, including:
2 Dewalt 12" miter boxes, 1 Senco air compressor, Dewalt
chop saw, Makita 7 1/4" skill saw, Milwaukee 7 1/4"
skill saw, and 10" Makita sliding miter box.
Crime of the Week - August 12, 2003
During the morning hours of August 9, 2003, The Hideaway Night
Club, located
at 1730 Lima Ave in Findlay, was burglarized. Forced
entry was made to the
business. Cash was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - July 31, 2003
During the early morning hours of July 31, 2003 a man forcibly
entered a
home in the 800 block of Adams St in Findlay and sexually
assaulted a woman
inside her home. The suspect is described as a dark complected
male,
possibly Hispanic, approximately 5'-7" tall, stocky or
muscular build, dark
hair with a mustache and goatee. (Composite

Crime of the Week - July 18, 2003
Sometime between July 4th and July 6th, 2003 a home was
burglarized in the
200 block of Laquineo St in Findlay. Stolen during
this burglary were cash,
old coins, jewelry, and a safe. A minivan was stolen
from the garage, and
later recovered in the 100 block of Allen Ave in Findlay.
Crime of the Week - July 10, 2003
During the early morning hours of July 3,
2003, the West Park Carryout,
located at 1300 Foraker Ave in Findlay, was burglarized. Forced
entry was
made to the business. Items stolen during this
burglary included beer,
cigarettes, and cash.
Crime of the Week - June 27, 2003
Three outbuildings were broken into at
Millstream South School, 1100 Broad
Ave, Findlay, during the evening of June 12, 2003. Forced
entry was made to
the buildings. A tractor that was stolen from one of
the buildings was
later recovered in the creek off Fox St. in Findlay. A
portable CD player
was also stolen from one of the buildings.
Crime of the Week - June 3, 2003
On June 8, 2003 at approximately 1:30 a.m. a man was assaulted
while inside
Wooley Bulley's, 1851 Tiffin Ave in Findlay. The
suspect struck the victim
in the face with a drink glass, injuring the victim. The
suspect is
described as a Mexican male, mid twenties, 5'-10", skinny
moustache with a
shaved head. The Police have not been able to
identify the suspect.
Crime of the Week - June 3, 2003
On May 23, 2003 at approximately 7:45 p.m. a home in the 800
block of Fifth
St. in Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made
to the home. Once
inside, the culprits vandalized the contents of the home.
Crime of the Week - May 28, 2003
During the early morning hours of May 25, the concession stand
at the Benton
Ridge Park was burglarized. Forced entry was made to
the stand. Candy,
pop, and supplies were stolen, and damage was done to the
building and
contents. The Hancock Park District is offering an additional
reward through
its "Park Watch Program." The Hancock
County Sheriff's Office is currently
investigating this burglary.
Crime of the Week - May 19, 2003
During the past several weeks numerous businesses have been
burglarized in
various parts of Findlay. Forced entry was made or
attempted at: Larry's
Barber Shop, 513 W. Trenton, 04/27/03; Maralube Express, Pizza
Hut and
Alpine Florist, 2400-2700 Block N. Main St., 5/10/03; Farmers
Insurance
Group, 446 Cherry St, 05/10/03; Rainbow Muffler 615 W. Trenton,
05/18/03;
The Tool Store, 423 N. Main St, 05/16/03; Lynn Charles Assoc.
444 Cherry St,
05/17/03; and Dairy Queen, 614 Lima Ave, 05/19/03. Cash
was the main item
stolen during these burglaries.
Crime of the Week - May 9, 2003
During the evening hours of May 5, 2003 several businesses were
burglarized
between the 300-600 blocks of Lima Ave in Findlay. Entry
was made to Dairy
Queen, Best Little Hair house, and Snyder Counseling. Entry
was attempted
at Austin Grant's Salon. Cash was stolen from some of these
businesses.
Crime of the Week - May 1, 2003
On Tuesday April 29, 2003 at 7:25 p.m. money was stolen from the
cash
register at Morey's Bookstore, 501 S. Main St. in Findlay. A
boy,
approximately 12 years old, 5'tall, 100 pounds, with short
blonde hair,
black shirt and blue jeans, was in the store and reached across
the counter
and stole the money, then ran out the door when confronted by
employees.
Crime of the Week - April 23, 2003
During the last week of March, a shed was burglarized in the 300
block of Lester Ave in Findlay. A large amount of
drywall equipment and tools were stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - April 8, 2003
On December 18, 2002 at approximately 5 a.m. the Colonial
Laundry, 505 W.
Trenton Ave in Findlay, was robbed. The employee on
duty was knocked to the
ground and held at gunpoint while other suspects removed a cash
change
machine from the business. Some information regarding
this crime was
received from an anonymous source. That source is
urged to recontact Crime
Stoppers or the Findlay Police Department.
Crime of the Week - March 28, 2003
On March 22, 2003 at approximately 2:30 a.m. an altercation took
place
between several people in the parking lot outside of Wooley
Bulley's, 1851
Tiffin Ave in Findlay. During the course of this
altercation, one of the
participants was run over by a vehicle containing the other
participants.
The vehicle involved was a dark green or black Honda, driven by
a white male
with blonde hair in his 20's. He had two female
passengers in the vehicle.
The vehicle fled the scene. The victim was treated
and released for his
injuries.
Crime of the Week - March 20, 2003
During the day of March 15,
2003 an apartment was burglarized in the 100 block of E.
Front St. in Findlay. A Sony play station, games,
clothes, and a DVD player were stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - March 10, 2003
During the evening of March 7, 2003 someone stole four wheels
and rims off a
vehicle while it was parked at Gene Steven's Auto Center, 1033
Bright Rd. in
Findlay. The rims were chrome Pontiac rims and the
tires were Goodyear
Eagles.
Crime of the Week - February 24, 2003
During the early morning hours of February 23, 2003, the
Sterling Dairy Store, located at 1058 Fostoria Ave in Findlay,
was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the business. Marlboro
and Camel cigarettes were stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - February 14, 2003
Between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on February 5,
2003 a home was burglarized in
the 100 block of Oakland Ave in Findlay. The
residents were not home at the
time of the crime. Cash, coins, and jewelry were
stolen during this
burglary.
Crime of the Week - February 3, 2003
On January 29th, 2003 at approximately 9:45 p.m. a
pizza delivery man was robbed while making a delivery in the
1800 block of Brookside Dr. in Findlay. Two suspects were
involved in this robbery, one being a white male approximately
5' 8" tall, 160 to 170 pounds, with short hair, wearing a
long sleeve button down shirt. The second suspect is described
as a white male approximately 5' 10" to 6' 0" tall,
200 to 210 pounds, wearing a dark stocking cap and a dark winter
coat. The victim, who was struck on the head with an unknown
object during the robbery, required treatment for his injuries.
Crime of the Week - January 27, 2003 - ARRESTED
Felony arrest warrants for Aggravated Burglary with Gun
Specification (F1) and Disrupting Public Service (F4) have been
issued for Chad J. N. Howard of 404 ½ Washington Street
Findlay, OH. through the Hancock County Common Pleas Court.
Chad is also wanted on felony warrants
through Wyandot County Common Pleas Court and misdemeanor
warrants through Findlay Municipal Court. Chad has been seen
recently in the Findlay area. Anyone with information on the
whereabouts of Chad J. N. Howard is asked to call the Hancock
County Sheriff's Office or CRIME STOPPERS.
Crime of the Week - January 17, 2003
Between January 9 and January 16, 2003 three burglaries have
occurred in the
Highland Estates Mobile Home Community, located off Crystal Ave
in Findlay.
In each occurrence, forced entry was made to a residence. Some
of the items
stolen during these burglaries include cash, a television,
stereo, computer,
DVD player, and guitar.
Crime of the Week - January 7, 2003
During the evening of November 14, 2002 a home was burglarized
in the 1500 block of Foraker Ave in Findlay. Forced
entry was made to the residence. Stolen during the
burglary were: A wooden Yamaha acoustic guitar; a red
Hammer electric guitar model # GATC; a Hewlet Packard computer
system; a collection of Harley Davidson Zippo lighters; and a
Crate GFX-30 amplifier. The suspect was possibly
driving an older truck with loud exhaust.
Crime of the Week - December 23, 2002
On December 18, 2002 at approximately 5 a.m. the Colonial
Laundry, 505 W.
Trenton Ave in Findlay, was robbed. The employee on
duty was knocked to the
ground and held at gunpoint while other suspects removed a cash
change
machine from the business.
Crime of the Week - December 16, 2002
On December 6, 2002 at approximately 9 p.m. an elderly man was
attacked and
robbed while sitting in his residence in the Chateau East Mobile
Home Park
in Findlay. Two suspects entered the trailer and knocked the man
to the
floor, then stole money and other items from the residence. The
suspects
were described as Hispanic males, one taller and husky, the
second shorter.
Both were wearing stocking caps, and one had on a brownish
orange heavy
hunting type coat. The victim was not injured.
Crime of the Week - December 5, 2002
During the past month, there have been over 18 instances of
vandalism and
theft in the area of SaddleBrook and Brooklawn in the Hillcrest
Estates
Subdivision. These incidents have included vehicles
being entered, garages
entered, vehicles stolen, and vehicles vandalized. The
crimes are usually
occurring on weeknights, between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.
Crime of the Week - November 21, 2002
On November 8, 2002 at 11:35 p.m. a man was attacked
and robbed while
walking in the 100 block of E. Front St in Findlay. The
victim was knocked
to the ground and his wallet removed from his pants pocket. The
suspect,
who was described as a male, 5-10", slim build, was seen leaving
the scene
on a light colored BMX style bicycle. The victim
required medical treatment
for his injuries.
Crime of the Week - November 12, 2002
On November 2, 2002 at 7:50 p.m. a 25 year old Findlay man was
robbed while
walking in the area of Washington Ave and Second St. in Findlay. Two
passengers exited a dark colored Grand Am or Camaro and
approached the
victim, assaulted him knocking him to the ground, and stole his
wallet. The
suspects reentered the vehicle and fled Westbound from the
scene. One
suspect is described as a white male, late 20's, black curly
hair, thin
goatee, wearing a black leather coat and blue jeans. The
other suspect was
a white male, early 20's, wearing a blue and yellow jacket and
baggy blue
jeans.
Crime of the Week - November 1, 2002
At approximately 5 a.m. on October 25, 2002 a newspaper delivery
woman was
assaulted while delivering papers in the 800 block of Center St.
in Findlay.
The suspect approached the victim and grabbed her, injuring her
face. The
victim was treated and released for her injury. The suspect was
a white
male, 20-30 years old, wearing a navy blue sweat suit.
Crime of the Week - October 24, 2002
A 23 year old Findlay man was assaulted during an apparent case of road rage
that began at the Taco Bell on Trenton Ave in Findlay on October 20, 2002 at
approximately 2 a.m. One vehicle leaving the parking lot was cut off and
stopped by another vehicle that had been in the parking lot of Taco Bell.
Occupants of the one vehicle approached the occupants of the other, and the
victim was assaulted. The suspects were in a grey 87-88 Buick Century.
There are 3 suspects:
1) White male- 35-45 year's old, brown hair and moustache. He was the driver
of the suspect vehicle.
2) White male- 20's in age, 5'11" tall, short light colored hair.
3) White male- 20's in age, no other description.
The victim did require medical treatment for his injuries.
Crime of the Week - October
10, 2002
During the week of September 28 th, 2002 numerous
cars were broken into in several areas of Findlay and Hancock
County. Over
20 vehicles were entered at the Riverview Terrace Park off
County Road 140. Over 20 vehicles were also entered in the
Bernard Park area of Findlay.
In most cases, forced entry was made to the vehicles by
breaking windows or forcing door locks.
Car stereos, CD’s, and other electronic equipment
were stolen during these thefts.
Crime of the Week - October 7, 2002
- SOLVED
On October 3, 2002 a bomb threat was received at Findlay High
School, Millstream South Campus, located at 1100 Broad Ave in
Findlay. As a result of this threat, the school was evacuated
and searched. No device was found.
Crime of the Week - September 20, 2002
On September 12, 2002 between 7 and 8 p.m. a female was attacked while walking her dog at the Findlay Reservoir. She was robbed of her jewelry and sexually assaulted. Her assailants were described as: A black male, 5’-6” tall, early 20’s in age, with short hair; A white male, 5’6” tall, early 20’s in age, long scraggly brown hair and unshaven; A white male, 5’9” tall, early 20’s in age, short brown hair, with a blue. The victim was treated and released from the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.

On September 10, 2002 at
1:30 a.m. the Speedway Gas Station at 752 Trenton Ave Findlay,
was robbed. The
suspect entered the store carrying a sawed off double barrel
shotgun and jumped over the counter.
He fled after obtaining cash from the register.
The suspect fled on foot to the East, and was last seen
leaving the scene in a small red vehicle, possibly a Cavalier.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5-8 to 5-10
tall, average build, wearing a dark ski mask, a jersey type
shirt, and shorts. The
clerk was not injured during the robbery.
Crime of the Week - September 6, 2002
- SOLVED
On August 31, 2002 Dietsch's Brothers, located at 400 W. Main
Cross St. in
Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was made
to the business. Once
inside, the culprit(s) tampered with the safe in the office. A
small amount
of cash was taken. A fire was started within the
office, which caused
damage to the office area and inventory.
Crime of the Week - August 30, 2002
During the early morning hours of August 16, 2002 a grader and
bulldozer
that were being used for the Emory Adams Park addition were set
on fire.
The construction equipment was parked at the South end of the
Park at the
time they were vandalized. Various items had been
stacked on top of the
bulldozer and set ablaze.
Crime of the Week - August 21, 2002
Sometime between March and June 7, 2002 a storage shed located
in the 1800
block of Park St was broken into and numerous items stolen. These
items
include: A notch mill; routers; air compressor; generator;
welders; power
washer; and other specialized tools used in vinyl window
construction. Some
of these items weighed several hundred pounds apiece.
Crime of the Week - August 13, 2002 - SOLVED
During the morning of August 10, 2002 two suspects entered the Meijer's Store located at 2200 Tiffin Ave in Findlay and shoplifted a television and VCR. The same suspects were involved in a similar shoplifting incident at
Meijer's earlier that week. On both occasions, the suspects would load a shopping cart with the merchandise and exit the store without paying for the items. The suspects were described as a white female, 5'-6" 200 pounds with
brown hair, and a black male 5'-10" 175 pounds, both being in their early thirties. They were seen leaving in a small maroon truck, possibly 80's model.

Crime of the Week - August 2, 2002
On July 19th, 2002 a 1998 Yamaha Warrior 4-Wheeler was stolen
from the 200
block of Ash Ave in Findlay. The all terrain vehicle
was blue and white in
color.
Crime of the Week - July 16, 2002
During the early morning hours of June 30, 2002 cash was stolen
from Nicki's
Bar, 139 N. Main St. Findlay. It is believed that the
suspect may have
hidden in the bar after closing and then entered the safe and
removed the
cash.

On the evening of July 19th, 2002 two Coca Cola pop machines
were
vandalized and broken into at Emory Adams Park, 1827 S.
Blanchard St.
Findlay. Both machines had been pried upon and money
was stolen from one of
the machines.
Crime of the Week - June 28, 2002
During the past 3 weeks, numerous vehicles have been entered in Findlay and stereos and related items have been stolen. On most occasions, forced entry was made by either breaking a window, or by damaging the door-locking system. Stereo's, compact discs, speakers, and other electronic equipment seem to be the main target of the thieves. These thefts have occurred in several neighborhoods throughout the city. Over twenty vehicles have been
entered in this most recent wave of thefts.
Crime of the Week - June 14, 2002
On June 8, 2002 a burglary occurred at the East of Chicago Pizza
Company,
910 N. Main St. Findlay. A safe containing cash was
stolen from the
business.
Crime of the Week - May 31, 2002
At 9:34 p.m. on Sunday May 26, 2002 ten-year-old Amber Miller
was struck and
killed while crossing the 500 block of Sixth St. in Findlay,
with her foot
scooter. Several witnesses to the accident described
the hit-skip vehicle
to police. The vehicle was described as an older
model, box style pick-up
truck, possibly a Ford or Chevy, full size (half ton) possibly
dark blue or
black. It may have side molding or a stripe on the
lower portion of the cab
area. Amber was struck by the right front of the
pick-up truck, which was
traveling eastbound on Sixth St. The vehicle fled the
scene, still
eastbound on Sixth St. after the accident. While many leads have
been
reported to police, neither the vehicle nor the driver have been
identified
at this point.
Crime of the Week - May 17, 2002
During the weekend of May 11th, 2002, Car Craft Collision located at 225 E. Front St. in Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the business. Cash and car titles were stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - May 8, 2002
The Findlay Police Department has investigated two recent cases
where
elderly persons were scammed for money. Two similar
incidents occurred
during November, 2000. In all the cases, the victim
receives a call at home
from a man identifying himself as an investigator for their
bank. He
usually uses the correct bank's name for the victim. The
caller tells the
victim he is investigating employee theft at the bank and asks
for their
cooperation. The caller has in some instances had
correct personal
information of the victim. The caller asks the victim
to withdraw a
specific amount of money and meet him in a parking lot on Tiffin
Ave in
Findlay, usually a large store. The caller then meets his victim
and
collects the money. The caller has called back within
hours to request
additional funds as part of his investigation.
The suspect has been described as a white male, in his early 50's, 5-8 to
5-10, average build, always wearing a black trench coat.
Any person receiving such a call is asked to contact their local
bank, and
their local law enforcement agency.
Crime of the Week - April 30, 2002
- SOLVED
Between April 18th and April 21st a racing go cart was stolen from a yard in the 800 block of Park St. in Findlay. The go cart was metallic blue with a black and red fiberglass seat. The left rear wheel was offset. There was no engine on the go cart.
Crime of the Week - April 22, 2002
During the evening of Tuesday April 16th, paint vandalism was
done to houses
and cars parked in the 200 bock of Lester Ave and the 200-300
blocks of
Prentiss Ave in Findlay. White paint was sprayed on
the houses and cars.
Profanity was spelled out on the houses.
Crime of the Week - April 15, 2002
- SOLVED
During the weekend of April 13th, 2002 several businesses were
entered in
the southeast part of Findlay. A Style A Head, 514 E.
Sandusky St.; Findlay
Hair Affair, 117 E. Crawford St.; Fifth Child Fast Photo, 113 E.
Crawford
St.; JR's RV Service, 417 E. Sandusky St.; and Fresh Gear, 114
E. Sandusky
St. were all burglarized. Forced entry was made to
the businesses. Cash,
jewelry, and clothing were stolen during these burglaries.
Crime of the Week - April 2, 2002
- SOLVED
During the past three weeks, several burglaries have occurred at area
businesses in Findlay. On March 14th, Muffler Brothers located at 543
Tiffin Ave was entered. On March 25th, Johnston Supply located at 344 S.
Blanchard St was burglarized, and on April 1st, The Hair After located at
414 E. Sandusky St was burglarized. Forced entry was made in all incidents.
Petty cash was stolen during these crimes.
Crime of the Week - March 22, 2002
On February 11, 2002 during the afternoon a vehicle was entered while parked
at the Findlay YMCA, 300 E. Lincoln St, and a purse was stolen. Forced
entry was made to the vehicle. Later that day, several purchases were made
in Findlay and Beaverdam with the stolen credit cards. Video was obtained
of the suspect during one of these purchases, and the (picture below) is of

Crime of the Week - March 15, 2002
Since March 8, 2002 six schools
have been burglarized in Findlay. Jacobs, Donnell, Washington,
Glenwood, Chamberlain Hill and Wilson Vance Schools have been
victimized in this recent string of burglaries. Forced entries
have been made to the schools. Cash and gift certificates were
stolen and damage done to school property
Crime of the Week - March 8, 2002 - SOLVED
On March 2, 2002 at approximately 2:15 a.m. a man was
assaulted and robbed
while in the parking lot of Brandy's, 1101 W. Main Cross St.
Findlay. No
weapons were brandished during the robbery. The suspect is
described as a
white male, in his 30's, tall and thin, wearing a brown coat.
Crime of the Week - February 22, 2002
During the past several weeks numerous vehicles have been
entered around the
Findlay area and various items stolen. In some cases,
unlocked vehicles
were entered and ransacked, but in the majority of cases,
windows were being
smashed to gain entry to the vehicle. Car stereos, CD's, purses, wallets,
cash, and other personal effects are being stolen. Many
neighborhoods have
been victimized by this most recent wave of thefts.
Crime of the Week - February 15, 2002
- SOLVED
During the evening of February 8, 2002 a shed in the 1000
block of Harmon St
was forcibly entered and two motorcycles were stolen. The
motorcycles are
2001 Yamaha YZ 125 motorcycles. Both were blue and
white in color.
Crime of the Week - February 8, 2002
During the evening of February 2, 2002 four residences were
burglarized on
the East side of Findlay. Homes were forcibly entered
on Deer Lake Drive
and Fox Run Circle. Cash and jewelry was stolen
during these burglaries.
Crime of the Week - January 26, 2002
On January 19, 2002 at 10:10 p.m. Michael Eller Jewelers,
located at 1100
Croy Dr. Findlay, was burglarized. The culprits
smashed the glass of the
front door to gain entry. Stolen from the business
were 36 Tag Heuer
watches.
Crime of the Week - January 18, 2002
- SOLVED
On December 23, 2001 at 05:00 a.m. a 1992 Blue Pontiac Sunbird
Ohio registration YIC-371 was stolen from the 800 block of
Wilson St. The vehicle was stolen from a garage at a
residence in that neighborhood. The owner of the vehicle gave
chase, but was unable to catch up with the vehicle as it sped
away. The vehicle has not been located.
Crime of the Week - January 7, 2002 - SOLVED
During the evening of December 27, 2001
Jack’s Lawnmower Service located at 307 E. Bigelow Ave
Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the
business. Stolen during this burglary were snow blowers
and a go-carts.
Crime of the Week - December 24, 2001
Two robberies occurred in Findlay on Friday
evening, December 21, 2001. The first occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the Findlay
Village Mall. An
employee was approached as she was getting into her vehicle. The
suspect
grabbed the money bag from the victim's vehicle and fled on foot
Eastbound.
The second robbery occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. at the
Pizza Hut,
located at 2401 N. Main St. The suspect brandished a
knife in this robbery
and fled after obtaining cash from the cash register.
Crime of the Week - December 14, 2001
On December 1, 2001 Findlay Siding and Building Supplies,
located at 618
Rockwell Ave Findlay, was burglarized. Forced
entry was made to the
business. Cash and tools were stolen during this
burglary.
Crime of the Week - December 6, 2001
On October 27, 2001 the Clark Gas Station at
525 Tiffin Ave in Findlay was
burglarized. It is undetermined how entry was made to
the business. Cash
and cigarettes were stolen during this burglary.

Crime of the Week - November 26, 2001
On November 23, 2001 at approximately 4:08 p.m. the Sky Bank
located at 1403
N. Main St. Findlay was robbed. A man (pictured
above), entered
the bank and presented a
note to the teller demanding money . No gun was seen,
but the suspect
indicated he did have a gun. The suspect fled on foot
from the bank after
receiving an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect
is described as a
dark complected male, possibly of Hispanic or Italian descent.
He was in his
late 20's to early 30's in age. He is 5'11" tall, 160 pounds,
with a
moustache and goatee, wearing glasses. He was wearing
a black coat, blue
jeans, and tennis shoes.
The Findlay Police Department has video of the suspect that may
be
reproduced by media. Attached to this release is a
picture from this video
showing the suspect.
This robbery is currently under investigation by the FBI and the
Findlay
Police Department.
Crime of the Week - November 16, 2001
Between November 8th and November 9th, 2001 numerous storage
units were
broken into at The Storage Express, 811 E. Bigelow Ave, Findlay. Forced
entry was made to over 26 storage units. Some of the
items stolen from the
Units include: Car Stereo Equipment; hand tools; computer
equipment;
financial files; and softball equipment.
Crime of the Week - November 8, 2001
On Sunday September 23, 2001 at 1:53 a.m. a fire at 224 E.
Main St. in
McComb claimed the life of Kathryn Stevens, of that address. Four
other
family members were injured in the blaze. The State
Fire Marshal's office
has ruled the fire arson.
Crime of the Week - October 29, 2001
On October 19, 2001 at approximately 9:00 p.m. a man was
assaulted and
stabbed in the 100 block of Santee Ave, Findlay. The
victim had observed a
dome light on in a vehicle and went to investigate. The
victim confronted a
suspect who was apparently breaking into the vehicle. A
struggle ensued
between the victim and the suspect. During the course of the
struggle, the
suspect stabbed the victim in the arm with an unknown object. The
suspect
fled on foot. He was described as a white male, 6? tall, stocky
build, with
dark hair and clean-shaven. The victim was treated
and released from the
hospital.
Crime of the Week - October 16, 2001
During the early morning hours of October 14, 2001 a
garage in the 200
block of Allen Ave, Findlay, was forcibly entered and a
motorcycle stolen.
Taken was a 1999 Kawasaki 2XL, green, with the numbers 008 on
the rear
sides.
Crime of the Week - October 1, 2001
During the early morning hours of September
30, 2001 the Subway Shop located at 534 S. Main St., Findlay, was
burglarized. Cash was stolen during this burglary.
Crime of the Week - September 24,
2001 - SOLVED
Twice during the weekend of September 21-23, 2001 the Youth
for Christ building was burglarized at 426 Tiffin Ave in Findlay.
Forced entry was made on both occasions. Cash and candy were stolen.
Crime of the Week - September
3, 2001
Between August 29th and September 5, 2001 a vehicle was entered
in the 600 block of College St. Findlay and numerous guns removed. Missing
is a .380 Mossberg pistol, 4 Remington Shotguns, and 1 Ithaca Shotgun.
Crime of the Week - August 27, 2001
Between August 25th and August 26th, 2001 a garage in the 700
block of Morse St. Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was
made to the garage.
Numerous gas powered model airplanes, transmitters, model
airplane engines,
and a stereo were destroyed inside the garage by the culprits. Stolen
from
the garage was a gas powered Traxxas radio controlled car.
Crime of the Week - August 20, 2001
Between August 2 and August 3, 2001
Pathways Christian Counseling and CrossPoint Church, located
at 620 Crystal Ave, Findlay, was burglarized. Forced entry was
made to the building. Damage was done to property inside
the building and cash was stolen.
Crime of the Week - August 6, 2001
During the past few weeks numerous semi trucks have been entered and CB
radios stolen. These incidents have been occurring in hotel parking lots
and truck stops in the area. Forced entry is usually made to the semi cabs
by breaking a window.

During the early morning hours of July 30,
2001 the China Buffet, located at 1908 Tiffin Ave.
